Copywriting and editing FAQ

What is a freelance B2B copywriter?

A freelance B2B copywriter is a freelance copywriter who writes for businesses that primarily market their products and services to other businesses, as opposed to marketing directly to consumers.

What distinguishes B2B copywriting?

B2B copywriting requires a certain degree of expertise on the topic and language needed to convey it, as B2B audiences have a certain degree of savvy awareness and sophistication regarding the industry and its key players that consumer audiences don’t always have.

This requirement applies to B2B copywriting in general, and especially to B2B technology copywriters and B2B financial copywriters since these industries are technical and intricate.

Are you the right copywriter for me?

It depends on what you're looking for and your budget. If you're seeking a premium service (B2B or related to my specialty industries) that goes beyond writing to adapting language to strategy and conducting due diligence and in-depth research, then this is the service for you. If you're seeking a cheap and generic content-mill-style copywriter, then this service will not be suitable for you. It's easy to locate a copywriter who does not provide the write cure.

What are your rates?

I typically charge a flat fee for copywriting and content writing projects with clear specs. For editing projects, I view the original draft to assess whether it needs minor or major editing and then send you a quote. These three services often intersect, and the distinction between them can be the amount of work needed on my end to get your document where it needs to be.

Do you work on a project or hourly basis?

It depends on the project.

  • Project basis is the default format — great for both standalone or recurring projects.

  • Hourly-basis remote consultancy can also be arranged on an agreed-on suitable hourly rate.

Why pay for content when there's free content online?

Pay for content if you want conversions, originality, targeting, positioning, and relevance. Avoid content mills and cheap copy — what’s cheap to buy is easy to imitate and easy to forget. Free content has a hidden cost: your brand image and profit margin.

Do you hire other writers, mentor, or offer internships?

No, I don't. Everything I submit as my work is written by me.

How early should I book my project to meet my target deadline?

Book your project start date at least 1-2 weeks in advance (pending availability) of target delivery date. Projects, once I confirm availability and send you a quote, can be booked with the down payment specified in the quote.

How long will it take you to write my content?

That depends on several factors: the project's nature, size and the amount of raw material you have. A 10-page website can take 1-2 weeks while a whitepaper can take 2-3 weeks. I'm faster than most copywriters, but I do emphasize planning, research and strategy to ensure you get the most value out of your investment.

Do you have the bandwidth to take on large projects or projects with regular ongoing requirements?

That depends on your requirements. Describe approximate project size and content delivery frequency when you email me, and I can reply more precisely regarding availability. Keep in mind that I specialize in short copy rather than writing whitepapers or case studies from scratch.

Do you have an order minimum?

Yes, I have an order minimum in terms of cost ($250 minimum) but not in terms of content volume. So you can order a single paragraph or standalone headline if that's what you need.

Do you charge a late payment fee?

Yes, because payment delays cost me money. So the payment date scheduled in the quote should be respected to avoid paying a late fee.

What payment options do you accept?

Pay online for my writing services with credit or debit card via PayPal, or by mailed check, ACH, or wire transfer.

Do you visit or write on-site in our agency or company?

No, I'm a virtual copywriter who has always written and worked remotely only from my home office. Remote-work-savvy CEO's, CMO’s, marketing directors, and wealth managers know that when it comes to copywriting services, meetings don't achieve much, and that the real work happens behind the scenes where thinking gets done. The Write Cure is a remote writing service that delivers results with no face-to-face meetings needed.

Do you write about topics other than technology and finance?

Yes, but only selectively. Send your inquiry through the contact form so I can get back to you.

Why don't you have an official blog?

The real question to ask is: Do you really want to hire, for your project, a freelance copywriter who has so few clients and so much time on their hands that they spend their time constantly writing blog posts instead of writing for clients? Or a copywriter who hires others to write their blog posts or their copy? That's what many copywriters do. Not me.

How many clients have you worked with?

I've worked with hundreds of clients over the past 20 years, but the real question to ask, the real mark of writing success, is how many clients have you retained? While growing my client base, I've retained most of my long-term clients with recurring needs for 20 years.

Can you recommend a talented graphic/web designer for my project?

Yes, visit Bonfilio Design.

How do I make my brand sound original and authentic?

By hiring a freelance copywriter who not only understands your brand, but who cares enough to ask the right questions to really understand it.

What's the best way to brief you on my project?

Fill out the contact form first. Once I confirm availability to take on your project, you can share relevant project info that can be supplement by the customized questionnaire I send you upon quote approval. No matter how much information you have at the onset or if you’re not sure how to communicate it, I’ve developed a client-friendly fail-proof method of obtaining the info I need. So that's the easy part for you  — just fill out the contact form, sit back and relax.
